Game:
Students sit in a circle with an object in front of each student.
On the upbeat, students pick up the object and pass it around the circle to the steady beat. The objects continue around the circle until the words, “triki,” at which point students pass the object to the right neighbor, then the left, then back to the right neighbor.
Any child who makes a mistake in the passing is out and the game continues until one student is left.
Built my Lady a Fine Brick House
Two students create a house by taking hands. One student stands between them, inside the house.
Sing the song. At the word, “out,” the two players lift their hands and the student in the house steps out.
In the second half of the song (swing a lady uptum), the players inside the houses run to switch houses. Students may not go to the same house twice.
For an added challenge, take away one house so there is always a student in the middle trying to “steal” a house.
